Ok let's see - we have an image hosted on a profile that is 1 day old and asks you to visit a website with a strange url with a promise of a financial reward on an another website. How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

Bronies go nuts, and Nintendo Sucks?Equestria Girls
The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

SIW Feedback Contest!!! [prize list edit]

I would like to announce the launch of the SIW Feedback Contest!

We are now accepting stories to be commented/critiqued for the entire month of December. Contest participants will then have the opportunity to leave feedback on those stories during the month of January for the chance to win prizes.

We will open the feedback portion of the contest on Jan. 1st. The feedback portion will be open for the entire month of January so there should be no conflict with holidays. You will want to leave the best feedback you can because at the end of the month, we will ask each author to select the two members who gave their story the best/most helpful feedback. We will tally these up and the member who was selected by the most authors will win the grand prize. All group members are encouraged to participate in leaving feedback, not just the writers.

To distinguish feedback left on stories for the feedback contest from other critiques or comments received during this time, participants must add "SIW FC" at the end of comments/critiques to alert the author that it is for the SIW Feedback Contest. Authors will be told not to consider comments/critiques lacking this tag.

A new journal will be posted at the beginning of January with the list of stories for feedback, some helpful guidelines for leaving feedback, and a reminder about the rules and prizes.

Here are the contest rules:

Note the group with the following information: thumbcode for the story you would like to enter, brief summary (3-5 sentences), and genre (romance, fantasy, sci-fi, horror, etc.). Entries must be received by 11:59 PM EST on December 31st.

One entry per group member. You may enter a story that you already have in our gallery, or you may write a brand new story.*

Must add "SIW FC" at the end of comments/critiques to be eligible for judging.

Must be a group member to participate.

Must leave feedback on at least 5 entries before you will be eligible for a prize.

There must be a minimum of 5 stories entered. If fewer than 5 stories are entered, the contest will be canceled.

*New stories must follow all group rules and standards to be accepted into the gallery and the feedback contest. All stories submitted to the group during this time will still be entered into the bi-weekly/bi-monthly contests.

I think *meryvamp already answered this question in the poll comments, but I'll answer it again. Yes, we accept fan fiction in the group gallery and the contest as long as it meets group standards. Just know that some commenters may not be familiar with that particular fandom, and it may affect the amount and/or quality of the feedback you receive. But feel free to enter fan fiction if you understand and accept that.

Thanks for the prize donation! Just to be clear...you will donate two llamas and a journal feature to each of the three place winners. Is that correct? If so, I was given to understand that a deviant can only donate one llama, not multiple llamas, to other deviants.

sorry for the late reply. i do (usually/most of the time) reply to everything when i talk with someone for real, especially online. but lately i'm making it a long time to respond since i'm being lazy with some updates. (this means i'll also reply to that first-or second, rather-comment you sent me about two weeks ago.)
yeah though, mery did answer my question. the fanfiction i submitted to the contest should be recognizable.

i never look for feedback ever, though, so like i said in the note i'll just help by putting in the story to add another 'entry' for that contest.
