What makes a masterfully told story

We are thrilled to see all the amazing stories that are filling our galleries. We've made a commitment to bring masterfully written male fiction to our members and watchers and hope you truly enjoy the writings showcased here. There are almost seventy stories now in SIW and ten works had to be declined so far based on not meeting the submission rules.

Majority of SIW rules is self-explanatory but we would like to touch here two of them which are harder to understand without reading the reference stories for SIW quality standards.

1. Stories need to have an intriguing and well developed plot.
2. Characters need to show emotional depth.

We do encourage anybody who wishes to contribute own works to SIW to read through the quality standard references available on the home page but for those who are either short of time or want a simple guide, we pulled together what we look for when reading a submission:

Rivet us with the plot of your story. Awake our fascination with the settings and events in your work. Give us a reason to wonder what will come next and make us want to read more. Pull us into what happens in your tale. Give us characters that we can love, admire or perhaps hate. Make us feel what they feel. Let us understand their desires and motives. Make us long, cry or laugh with them. Tell their story so compellingly that we will worry about them when things go wrong for them and breathe in relief with them when the tide turns and they succeed in their efforts.

When you do so, we will more than gladly hit the Accept button and will follow the destinies of your amazing men through thick and thin because we care about them and they will stay in our minds and hearts long after their story will have been told in full.
